Clean Water AmeriCorps PROJECT
 

The Missouri Clean Water AmeriCorps Project will place AmeriCorps Members in communities throughout the state to work with local sponsoring watershed non-profit organizations in providing support, outreach, education, training and mentoring to local groups interested in streams and water quality.

The project is hosted by the Missouri River Communities Network (www.moriver.org), with assistance from the Missouri Department of Conversation, the Missouri Department of Natural Resources and the Conservation Federation of Missouri.

Half-time members complete 900 hours of service, with $6035 in living expenses and (if service hours are completed) an education award of $2,362.  The next service year starts September 1, 2009.

One half-time AmeriCorps Member will be serving with the Elk River Watershed Improvement Association in Pineville, Missouri. Pineville is just 8 miles north of the Missouri/Arkansas line on Highway 71  This person will be working on clean water outreach, educational activities in schools and assisting with the Watershed Management Planning.  We are looking for a retired individual to fill this fun and important position in Southwest Missouri.  Learn more about the Elk River Watershed Improvement Association at: http://www.erwia.org/.
